To our Almanac users and community:
We've made the decision to shut down Almanac later this year.
We started Almanac because where we work has changed, but how we work has not. We still believe the future of work is distributed, and that modern teams need better tooling for more structured, transparent, and async collaboration across time zones.
Over the past three years, Almanac has been adopted by many of the world's best remote companies, and it's helped thousands of customers work faster and reduce meetings.
Last year, we saw an opportunity to use our platform to help many more people—small teams without the skills or resources of our larger customers—generate content and grow faster through the magic of AI.
Our new product, Blaze, has since taken off, growing to tens of thousands of users in a matter of months—and it's consumed all of our small team's time and energy to serve these customers well.
Ultimately, we've decided we don't want to offer a product in Almanac whose quality we no longer have the capacity to maintain or improve.
To help you transition out of Almanac, you can now bulk export all your docs and files from the left sidebar in your workspace. So you have time to adjust, the Almanac platform will remain live and accessible for all current users until January 31, 2025.
As we move forward, we are filled with gratitude to everyone who helped make Almanac what it's become. Your feedback, investment, and encouragement gave us confidence that something like Almanac needs to exist in the world, and motivation to keep building it.
The story of better collaboration at work doesn't end with Almanac, but hopefully we added something to its progress. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us push it forward, and for being part of our journey along the way. We won't forget it.
We'll see you over at Blaze!
Warmly,
Adam
